National Horse Racing Museum

National Horseracing Museum is a 5 acre site in the heart of Newmarket, consisting of three complementary attractions; National Horseracing Museum in the Trainer’s House and King’s Yard Galleries, Packard Galleries of British Sporting Art in Palace House, and a chance to meet former racehorses in the flagship home of Retraining of Racehorses.

Access to the National Horseracing Museum is between 10am-5pm on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd September.

General admission to NHRM is £5 per day during the Henry Cecil Open Weekend when you present your HCOW wristband at the museum. Ticket includes entrance to the museum, behind-the-scenes tours, access to the special exhibitions, meeting the retired racehorses, and a ride on the racehorse simulator

Special additions over the Henry Cecil Open Weekend taking place at the National Horseracing Museum:

  • Meet former champion sprinter BATTAASH: Approximately on the hour from 10am – 4pm on Saturday, 21st September, and approximately on the hour from 10am – 4pm on Sunday, 22nd September.
  • Retraining of Racehorses Show: Four classes will take place in the arena at the NHRM on Saturday 21st September for visitors to watch:
    • 9am – Class 1: British Show Horse Society Rising Star Racehorse to Show Horse – London International Olympia Horse Show qualifier
    • 11am – Class 2: RoR Amateur Ridden Qualifier for Hickstead
    • 1.30pm – Class 3: Unaffiliated Novice Ridden Retrained Racehorse
    • 3 pm – Class 4: RoR Open In Hand qualifier
